After the productive summer of the previous year in Lenggries, she now found relatively steady and continuous work in Sindelsdorf, which became their full-time home from 1910 onwards.
With its bright intensification of natural colors, the painting Apple Basket in the Grass radiates the freshness and temperament of a picture created directly in front of the motif and, also with strong brushstrokes and a decisive use of colour, was probably created in the first two years in Sindelsdorf.
