Mel Ramos is considered one of the co-founders of American Pop Art. In his works he used motifs from popular culture. He achieved fame with works featuring half-nude women in pin-up style, combined with consumer goods of well-known brands. In the present work he has adopted a figure instantly recognized all over the world, the first super hero of comic history: Kal-El from the planet Krypton alias Clark Kent alias Superman.
