Brücke + Blauer Reiter

Erich Heckel - Parklandschaft

From July 16 to November 13, 2022, the Buchheim Museum in Bernried will host the exhibition 'Brücke + Blauer Reiter'. On display are paintings from 1905 - 1914, from the best years of the two expressionist groups of artists who founded the beginning of modernism in Germany.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Kunstsammlung Chemnitz, the von der Heydt-Museum Wuppertal and is supplemented by loans from private collections and museums such as the Lenbachhaus in Munich, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern.

The "Brücke" (Bridge) is represented with works by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Erich Heckel, Max Pechstein, Emil Nolde, Otto Mueller and Fritz Bleyl.

Marianne von Werefkin, Alexej von Jawlensky, Wassily Kandinsky,Gabriele Münter, Franz Marc, August Macke, Paul Klee and Heinrich Campendonk are representatives of the "Blaue Reiter" (Blue Rider).
