Galerie Thomas is dedicating to Louise Nevelson, after the show "Sculptures and Collages" in 2004/2005, a new presentation of her wall-filling monochrome installations and collages. Her wall-filling objects are marked by their consistent monochrome colours—often black, but sometimes white or gold—which release the heterogeneous elements from their original purpose and subject them to new aesthetic categories. She is best known for her sculptural wall pieces. These consist of open-faced wooden boxes that are stacked to make freestanding walls. Within the boxes are displayed carefully arranged and highly suggestive collections of abstract-shaped objects mingled with chair legs, pieces of balustrades and other found objects and pieces bric-a-brac.
