Beginning in the 1920s, Renée Sintenis was one of the most successful sculptors in Berlin, especially when it comes to sculptures of animals. For instance, it was Sintenis who designed the famous Berlin bear, which is today still awarded, in a reduced size, as the prize of the Berlinale film festival. Apart from animals, her repertoire also included sports and portraits. Provenance available
