GALERIE THOMAS MODERN

Galerie Thomas at Maximilianstrasse 25 is one of the leading international galleries of German Expressionism and Classic Modern Art. It focuses on 'Blauer Reiter', 'Brücke', and 'Bauhaus' artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Alexej Jawlensky, August Macke, Franz Marc, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Mueller, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Emil Nolde, Lyonel Feininger, Oskar Schlemmer and Paul Klee. Works by Max Beckmann, Pablo Picasso, Edvard Munch, Fernand Léger, Jean Dubuffet, Serge Poliakoff and others are impressive proof of the gallery’s activities in the field of Classic Modern Art.
Galerie Thomas Modern at Tuerkenstrasse 16 concentrates on presenting today’s advanced and young modern artists. This includes works by renowned proponents of Pop Art, such as Andy Warhol, Jim Dine or Robert Indiana and artists of US Postwar and Abstract American Art, for instance Sam Francis or Joan Mitchell. In addition, Galerie Thomas Modern showcases distinct individual positions of established German artists after 1945 with works by Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter and Sigmar Polke. International artists of the younger scene, such as Peter Halley or Marc Quinn, round off the programme.
